The second month into the new year brings a number of changes to the Hot 100 as new artists move into the countdown and others step out after some time at the top.  Still, for all of the moving and shaking, artists like Beyonce and Kanye west maintain their presence in the top 10.

We’re a few days away from the official “Changing of the Guard” with the U.S. Presidency and a new hope has filled the air as the country continues to find itself embattled in economic turmoil.

It’s that time of the year again to see those brave souls audition to be the next American Idol. There are so many memorable past contestants that auditioned. Check it out!

Of course among them we’ll see those with amazing talent move on to Hollywood! Who would have thought when Kelly Clarkson auditioned back in 2001 she would be the first to take home the prize! Her fourth album is set to release in March of 2009.

With the new year comes the first Billboard Hot 100 for 2009 and though the year may have changed, many of the artists at the top have not.  Take for example that there are only seven artists comprising the Top 10 and five of them have been there for quite some time with the only new entries, as compared to early December’s list, being Taylor Swift and Britney Spears.  Here’s how the Top 10 stacks up for the beginning of the new year:

Harmonix, developer of the Rock Band video game, and MTV Games today confirmed that TEN, the debut album that introduced the world to Pearl Jam, will be offered for download at the Rock Band Music Store day-and-date with the re-issue of the album in stores on March 29th.

Pearl Jam released TEN on August 27, 1991.  The album reached #2 on the Billboard music chart , sold over 12 million copies and became one of the cultural music touchstones of the 1990s. 

In addition to the track “Alive” that is already featured on the Rock Band 2 game disc, the Pearl Jam TEN download pack will include the additional remaining songs from the album:
