Is 50 Cent the Best Hip-Hop Artist in the World?

November 12th, 2007 · by PlayaP · No Comments

According to the American Music Awards, 50 Cent is considered the “Best Selling Hip-Hop Artist in the World”. With publicized rap beefs with Ja Rule, Fat Joe & Diddy, 50 cent has gone on to sell over 30 million records in just 5 years 12 million of which came as a direct result of his 2 smash singles “In Da Club” and “21 Questions” from his debut album “Get Rich or Die Trying”. Prior to 50 cent’s “Curtis” and Kanye West “Graduation” albums being released on the same date, 50 wagered his career that Kanye’s album would be dwarfed by the sales of his album “Curtis”.

Unfortunately Kanye West “Graduation” went on to outsell 50 cents “Curtis” album in the US, while 50 maintained his dominance in the UK. 50 cent is prepping a G-Unit album that comprises of rap artists Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks & Young Buck with expected production from Eminem & Dr. Dre.
