Mother’s Day is this Sunday which brings up the question, what will you do for her?  After all, she went to bat for you and convinced dad to put you on their first ever mobile phone plan, right?  So what do you think?  Buy her some flowers?  Send her a heartwarming card?  At the very least pick up that cell phone of yours and give her a call?  She’s not some girlfriend who will get over you forgetting a date or your dad that probably has a much better time just sitting down watching the game…she’s YOUR MOM!  The woman who made special meals for you, fixed your boo-boo’s, washed your clothes, carried you to school both ways uphill!  Let me tell you something, and I know this from experience, moms don’t forget no matter how trivial it might seem to you so you better have something great, not nice, planned for her.

Might I suggest for starters buying her a brand new spiffy handset with all the trimmings, and not one of those free mobile phones with monochrome screens either.  I’m talking about full-on multimedia capable for mobile video, mobile music, mobile games, mobile web, 2.0 megapixel camera, GPS navigation and all that good stuff.  While your at it, how about dressing it up with a ringtone or two from her favorite artist like Beyonce, Mariah Carey or even Amy Winehouse and Norah Jones.  Or if she likes those American Idols, there’s Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks, Clay Aiken and others.  The important thing is that you get her something she likes, can use, and LIKES TO USE.  Just ask yourself how she really feels about that vacuum cleaner you got her for Christmas.  With that in mind, you should probably spring for the mobile phone AND pay for her service as well.
