In other Metal happenings, AC/DC’s next studio album will be exclusively sold at Wal-Mart stores in the United States this coming Fall. This marks the latest veteran act to work exclusively with the retail giant following Garth Brooks, The Eagles and Journey. OK, what gives? I mean, I can understand the family friendly, introspective or even reminiscent sounds of the previous artists suitable for the Wal-Mart audience, but AC/DC? The no-holds-barred metal band who’s name is synonymous with, how can I put this mildly, practically everything completely opposite of Wal-Mart’s family values policies? And it’s exclusive to Wal-Mart? Really? No, seriously, REALLY?! Time’s sure have changed…
Finally, in not-so-metal news, Coldplay has been forced to postpone the start of its North American tour by two weeks. The tour will now kick off July 14-15 in Los Angeles. Previously announced free shows in London (June 16), Barcelona (June 17) and New York (June 23) will go on as planned, as well as July 27 at the first Pemberton Festival in British Columbia.
