The Bad Boy of Hip-Hop, 50 Cent, has been in the news a lot lately. From clothing line troubles, to possibly bringing Ashanti on board as the official first female of G-unit records [yea, Olivia doesn’t count], even various members of his squad jumping ship—the talk has been endless. And that’s just the way Curtis Jackson likes it. But he did stop by DJ Kay Slay’s radio show recently to address certain rumors, and of course cause some controversy. For those of you all who aren’t able to listen to the audio allow me to do a little transcribing for you…well paraphrase it at least. Basically Curtis was talking about how he’s been out of the scene for a minute because he was working extensively overseas. But since his return he’s noticing how nothings really going on. He’s seeing how artists are having trouble finding their positioning on radio which is resulting in them being forced to push back their respective projects. He feels there’s a dead spot which is what prompted him to release the Mixtape “Return Of The Body Snatchers” Volume One Download Here . Curtis also wanted to clear up the speculation about what’s going on between him and Young Buck. Fiddy claims the following: “It just looks crazy because he wasn’t on tour with me. But he was in TN doing his thing and I was in NYC doing mine”. He went on to say more, but you get the idea right? The rest of the interview was pretty much a bore to me. But, I can’t help but wonder what’s going on over there at G-Unit as a whole. A lot of respectable blogs where talking about this new rumor that surfaced late yesterday afternoon:

“According to inside sources, G-Unit Clothing is shutting down, with its last business day this Friday.

The brand was a joint venture with 50 Cent, who entered into a (what else?) 50/50 partnership with Ecko.

Senior marketing department staff were recently let go, as was the brand’s design team.”

Now I want to go on record as saying that I can’t confirm or deny this information. But it’s what the streets are saying so take it with a grain of salt until you hear otherwise. And what’s this I’m hearing about Ashanti being so mad at Irv Gotti for publicly admitting that she and the CEO of Murder Inc. in fact had an affair? Could Ashanti be wearing a G-Unit medallion anytime soon? I guess we are all going to have to wait and see aren’t we?
