Now in its ninth year, the Latin Grammys, alongside the Country Music Awards, this week kick off awards season for the music industry. Taking place at the Toyota Center in Houston on Nov. 13, it plans to highlight the best Spanish and Portugese-speaking musical acts of the year.
High on the nominee list is Juanes, the colombian-born rocker who has quickly skyrocketed to the top of the charts since his debut in 2000. With number one hits such as”La Camisa Negra” and “Volverte a Ver” under his belt, it only makes sense that he’s got a good shot at winning a few of the categories he’s nominated in, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
Hot on his heels of nominees though is Cafe Tacvba who are also nominated in those three categories and will be performing at the awards show. Other noted performers include Banda El Recodo and Los Tigres del Norte.
